What is Information Science?

  • Dr. Elizabeth Pierce – Chair of Information Science Department
  • Team Assignments – You should meet briefly with your team to exchange contact information and to get organized. You should begin to discuss potential topics for your project and come to class next Monday prepared to begin working on the project. The project guidelines can be reviewed here.
  • Next Monday you will work on the following with your teammates
    • Service Learning Project Topic – Submit for Approval
    • Team Organization – Who is responsible for what. Everyone should have a role.
    • Project Scheduling – Book your date and time with the DSC for your booth (Week Before Finals)
    • Submit to me as a Google Doc your project proposal (1 Per Team). This document should include all of the information listed above. Due to me by next Monday. Be prepared to give a status report to the class (one per team).
  • You are welcome to meet as a team later this week and begin work on the project. I’ll try and get your topic approved within 24 hours of submitting your proposal. After today, you’ll have two full sessions to work on the project before the Thanksgiving Holiday. Working ahead is in your best interest.

Create a Google Doc reflecting  on the experience you had during the scavenger hunt last week. Discuss how your team decided to tackle the hunt, whether or not you felt like you worked as a team, and what you would do differently.
