  1. Complete the first two sessions  of Power Searching with Google. Create a Google doc and share it with tswallace@ualr.edu. In this document, I’d like you to take notes from the Power Searching with Google course. Once we have completed the course you will use these notes to craft a blog post containing lessons learned from the workshop. Do not email me this document!. Use the built in sharing functionality of Google Docs. If you do not know how to do this you can look here for help.
  2. Write a blog post reflecting  on the experience you had during the scavenger hunt last week. Discuss how your team decided to tackle the hunt, whether or not you felt like you worked as a team, and what you would do differently.

jQuery Lab

Find a jQuery tutorial/technique  on the web. When evaluating the script make sure that the page is still usable without Javascript enabled. You should pick something that can be integrated into your current site to meet the above mastery requirement. Submit the URL to me via email of the working script. Due Monday.

Please discuss why it is important to use progressive enhancement and include a link to another article you found and read relating to the topic. Due before class Wednesday.

Site Prototyping & HTML5 Video and Audio

Assignment

Provide a working example of both an Audio and Video implementation using HTML5. This should be cross browser and work in IE 9 as well as modern browsers. Be prepared to discuss the implementation in class on Thursday. Included on the page should be the url of technique you used and a list of browsers and devices you were able to support.

For next Tuesday please have wireframe of your your final project ready. We will do a rapid prototyping exercise in class using the Bootstrap framework.

Site Planning and Prototyping

I’d like you to come up with and idea for a final project responsive web site. I’d like this project to incorporate the the use of responsive design practices and utilize some of the new html5 api’s. This can be for a fictitious client or a real world client or project. Be creative. Pick something you are interested in learning more about. I’d like you to write a paragraph or two explaining the project and what you hope to accomplish/learn by completing the project. In addition I’d like you to create a preliminary sitemap for your site and complete the client questionnaire.
